These terms apply to your use of TrueURL (trueurl.com), including the website, the redirect tools and the API that powers them. By using TrueURL you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
TrueURL is a free tool that requests URLs on your behalf and shows how they redirect. A result describes what our checker received from Cloudflare's network at that moment. Websites can respond differently to other visitors, locations, devices or times, and some block automated requests, so a result is information, not a guarantee.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use TrueURL to attack, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to any website, server or network, including denial-of-service attacks, vulnerability scanning or credential testing;
- send requests you aren't authorised to make, for example with someone else's session cookies or access tokens;
- use TrueURL to hide the origin of malicious traffic, or to distribute spam, malware or phishing;
- circumvent rate limits, blocks or other security measures, or try to reach private networks through the service;
- access the API under
/api/with scripts, bots or other automated means, or build products on top of it, without our written permission; - scrape, copy or resell the site's content or results in bulk;
- use the service in violation of any applicable law.
Checks are rate-limited per IP address to keep TrueURL fast for everyone; requests above the limit are rejected until the limit resets. We may limit, block or suspend any use that we believe breaks these terms or harms the service, without notice.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the URLs, headers, cookies and request bodies you submit, and for having the right to send them to the websites you check. Don't submit confidential information that you aren't allowed to share with the target site.
Third-party websites
TrueURL shows information about websites we don't control. Those websites, their content and their links are the responsibility of their owners. A final URL shown by TrueURL does not mean that the destination is safe, legitimate or endorsed by us. Ads on TrueURL are provided by Google and its advertisers.
No warranty
TrueURL is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that results will be complete or correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueURL and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service or its results. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to 50 US dollars. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Changes
We may change or discontinue any part of TrueURL, and update these terms, at any time. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If you continue to use the service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
